  • Do you issue invoices for insurance providers?
Yes, I can issue an invoice for insurance group plan claims. Here is a list of some Insurance Companies who recognize Holistic Nutritionists and allow you to claim to a group plan: Blue Cross, Claim Assure, Desjardins, Manulife, Sunlife Group, Industrial Alliance and Alberta Bluecross. Please note the list above has insurance companies who have included Holistic Nutritionists or Natural Nutrition, Nutrition Counselling Services in their list of claimable services. It is important to understand however, that employers select the option to include services from Holistic Nutritionists and you may not be covered. I will not know for sure if your insurance provider covers my services, so before working with me, it will be your responsibility to ensure you have coverage if you plan to submit a claim.
  • What is the difference between a traditional nutritionist and a holistic nutritionist?
A nutritionist is a health professional who typically holds a degree in nutrition or a related field and is trained to provide guidance on general nutrition and dietetics. They often work in clinical settings, public health, or private practice, advising individuals or groups on how to maintain a balanced diet to promote health and prevent or manage various health conditions. On the other hand, a holistic nutritionist takes a broader approach to health and wellness, considering not only the nutritional aspect but also other factors such as lifestyle, environment, emotional well-being, and spiritual health. They may integrate alternative or complementary therapies into their practice, such as herbal medicine, acupuncture, or energy healing, with the goal of achieving overall balance and wellness. They often work with clients to develop personalized nutrition and lifestyle plans tailored to their unique needs and goals. Some holistic nutritionists may have degrees in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field, similar to traditional nutritionists. Others may pursue specialized training in holistic nutrition through programs offered by accredited institutions or organizations. While both types of practitioners focus on nutrition, the key difference lies in the holistic approach, which considers the whole person and aims to address health and wellness from a more comprehensive perspective.

The goal of this course is to help you incorporate more anti-inflammatory foods into your diet, but we recognize that everyone has unique preferences. Adapt the recipes to fit your personal tastes while still focusing on the anti-inflammatory benefits.
